Requena, 18 January 2022 – The 73rd Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana, Gran Premi Banc de Sabadell will be held from 2-6 February 2022 in five exciting stages on the roads of the regions around Castellón, Valencia and Alicante.

There is a top-class line-up for this 73rd race, with the participation of 15 WorldTeam and eight ProTeam squads. Spectacle is guaranteed, with cyclists of the calibre of Alejandro Valverde and the promising young Valencian Juan Ayuso competing, as well as professionals like Remco Evenepoel, Matej Mohoric, Jack Haig and Jakob Fuglsang.

The route will be demanding from the start, climaxing in the queen stage that begins in Alicante and finishes in Las Antenas del Maigmó, Tibi, with a final stretch of sterrato (dirt road) that will test the endurance and skill of the best cyclists in the international pack.

The Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana is one of the most watched sporting events on television worldwide. This year it will be followed in 207 countries on Eurosport and RTVE broadcasts.

On Sunday, 6 February, the now classic VCV Féminas will also be held, with an identical course. This is the only race in Spain that gives the same prize money to women as to men.
