1927

Bodegas Schenk sets up affiliates in Spain. The first of these is in Vilafranca del Penedès, Catalonia, under the name of ‘Schenk España’.

1929

Wineries are opened in Alicante, Utiel and Requena. These young wineries initially focus on ‘quality’ cask wine, a sign of identity up until today.

1931

Schenk España decides to concentrate its activities on the winery in Valencia, which, located next to the port, meant the start of one of the main pillars of the brand: export.

1950

Bottled wine grows in importance until becoming the main focus of the company today.

1997

Schenk España changes its headquarters to a location at the very foot of the vines, in Requena at the heart of the Utiel-Requena Denomination of Origin, a producer of excellent quality wines.

2002

The company makes the most of its 75th anniversary celebrations by changing its name to ‘Bodegas Murviedro’ in honour of its wine Cavas Murviedro, one of the most emblematic brands of wine in the Valencian Community, which made Murviedro one of the most renowned wineries.

2010

Strategy focuses on commitment to native varieties which are the best ambassadors for our country, and on strengthening the old vine vineyards, creating wines linked to the land with unique characters that show a differentiating profile.

2017

Bodegas Murviedro celebrates its 90th anniversary, 90 years of passion for wine, and strengthens the brand based on the walls of Requena castle, our city, soaking it in territoriality and historical legacy.
The ‘Historic Winery’ is founded in the ancient quarter of the city, where the premium wine ‘La Casa de la Seda’ is elaborated, taking another step towards what the winery wants its future to be: commitment to the Bobal variety and its roots. A commitment to the land which makes this region its sign of identity.
