Murviedro achieves seven Excellents in the preview scores for the 2025 Peñín Guide, with three of its wines also receiving the top rating of five stars for value for money.
Murviedro is forging ahead with seven magnificent Excellents in the tastings for the next Peñín Guide in 2025. Three of these excellent wines – Murviedro Colección Reserva, Audentia Reserva and Murviedro Cepas Viejas Bobal – also get the five-star award – the top score the publication gives to excellent value for money – while Finca El Serrano gets three stars.
But it is the Vino de Parcela (Single-Vineyard Wine) Finca El Serrano 2022 that receives the best rating, with 92 Points. This red PDO Alicante wine is made with Monastrell grapes from the highest part of the estate, with the poorest soil in terms of nutrients, on a stony slope with the underlying limestone rock very close to the surface. These vines produce fewer bunches with high concentrations of both sugar and acidity, achieving extraordinary freshness in this wine with more moderate alcohol content than in other places in the Mediterranean region.
From the PDO Valencia, there are three outstanding wines with 90 points
Murviedro Colección Reserva 2020 and Audentia Reserva 2020 are made from a careful selection of Tempranillo, Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in different proportions and from different vineyards. The first is a truly classic Reserva, while the Audentia shows a more modern style, with its silky mouthfeel. Both have 90 Points and five stars.
The single-vineyard wine CV05 2022 is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. This elegant red wine, with a Bordeaux heart and a Mediterranean soul, is awarded 90 points.
Three wines stand out from the PDO Utiel-Requena
The aged single-vineyard wine Vallejo Avenas 2022, made with selected Chardonnay grapes, achieves 91 points thanks to its elegant character.
Our flagship wine, La Casa de la Seda 2021, an exclusive Bobal made from centuries-old vines, achieves 91 points.
And the group of wines featured in the guide is completed by Murviedro Cepas Viejas Bobal 2020, which scores 90 points and five stars.
