A special wine for the hospitality business, with soft sensations on the palate which, with its name, pays homage to the old Casa de la Seda de Requena: Sericis (silky in Latin).
Valencia, September 26th, 2018.- Bodegas Murviedro presents its new Sericis Cepas Viejas Bobal that is part of a new range designed especially for the Horeca channel.
As its name suggests, the main added value of Sericis Cepas Viejas Bobal are the vineyards where this precious Bobal comes from. The oldest vineyards with a very low level of production grown in different terroirs that give very different qualities to this variety and that bring out this grape’s potential, a native variety which brings the Requena area to life.
We follow the process of making this stock with minimal intervention that seeks to reflect the typicality of the variety and the careful selection of French oak barrels.
The result is an intense cherry red colour, with a light tile rim, a red with a deep and complex aroma, with a more spicy aromatic profile, a quality that is often attributed to wines aged for a long time in French oak barrels, with hints of forest berries on a balsamic background of toffee and vanilla. Thanks to its aromas and round tannins, it goes hand in hand perfectly with the local gastronomy, meat, game and sausages.
Its bottle is dressed with an elegant, sober and special image that recalls the ancient silk fabrics and which is incorporated into the range with the new image of Murviedro including its new logo inspired by the Latin name “Muri Veteres”; a clear allusion to the old walls that embrace the castle of the old Villa de Requena and that bring us closer to the historical legacy, territoriality and, over time, concert of meanings.
The full range includes two mono-varieties, one from Monastrell and another from Merseguera, two varieties which are also native ones and which have a lot of character.
