Bodegas Murviedro receives six new medals from the international competition Bacchus 2017, which took place from the 9th to 13th March in Madrid
Valencia 16 March 2017 – Bodegas Murviedro, Spanish subsidiary of the Schenk Group, added to their collection of awards with six new medals from the 15th edition of the International Wine Competition Bacchus 2017. The excellent red Cueva de la Culpa 2013 is once again on the podium, gaining the highest award for a Bobal, on this occasion winning a Gold Bacchus, the only Gold for a wine from the DOP Utiel-Requena.
The successes did not end there, as the winery also received five Silver Bacchus for Murviedro Colección Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Vox Populi Bobal 2014, Murviedro Colección Reserva Bobal 2013, Luna de Murviedro Brut Organic and the new La Pepica Monastrell 2016. Highlighting the presence that local varieties are gaining on the international stage.
The winning wines were chosen from more than 1700 references by 85 tasting experts. This event, which takes place in Spain, over four days manages to bring together a cast of expert tasters, which forms the Bacchus judging panel. More than a hundred names that add professionalism, experience and diversity.
Murviedro, Spanish subsidiary of the Schenk Group well known internationally in the wine industry, this year celebrates its 90th anniversary. The quality of the wines from Murviedro has resulted in the winery being ranked among the top 15 best Spanish wineries in the world rankings of the World Association, Wines & Spirits, Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ), occupying 11th place as a result of the medals and awards won by their wines in the main international wine competitions. 90% of their wines are exported, their key markets being the UK, Switzerland, Germany, Benelux, Scandinavia and Japan. The winery also continues to pursue its objective to increase its presence in the national market.
